Our “tiny house” is a 2004 40′ Beaver Santiam diesel pusher motorhome with a Cummins 330 ISC engine.  The rig has 3 slide-outs, a combo washer-dryer (which is  a must-have, we decided) and plenty of basement storage.   We bought the bus in October, 2015 and so far have been very comfortable in it.  We went from a two story, 3600 square foot 5 bedroom home with a pool in the western Houston, Texas suburbs to a ~300 square foot box-on-wheels and are loving every minute of it.  We will try to give more info about “the Beav” in a later blog post.

Rubi and the Beav…our tiny house

Around the same time, we also purchased a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon which we tow four-wheels-down (the only way to go if you have the right toad).  We absolutely love our Jeep.  It is decent on the highway but not great and it is superb, of course, off road.  The only drawback with the Wrangler is the less-than-ideal fuel mileage…but we live with it because of all the pluses the vehicle offers.  More on “Rubi”  in a later blog post.
