Hot Springs, Arkansas is home to Hot Springs National Park. This is one of America’s smallest national parks and was actually set aside in 1832 by President Andrew Jackson as a Reservation. After Congress established the National Park Service in
1916, Hot Springs Reservation became Hot Springs National Park in 1921 Thus, in some ways, Hot Springs National Park was actually our FIRST national park, because Yellowstone wasn’t set aside until 1872!
We stayed at an RV park out in the hills southeast of Hot Springs called Catherine’s Landing. This park is operated by RVC Outdoor Destinations and is an excellent park facility-wise. It is located on Lake Catherine along the Ouachita River.
